FAQ

  • Q:How to make an HTML page for the newsletter?

    A: –
Try to learn some basic HTML coding from an online tutorial. There are many free websites that offer them such as www.htmlcodetutorial.com. The HTML page for the newsletter should be made using some basic HTML rules:
    1. Use no or as little styles (CSS) --> only for mouse-over in hyperlinks
    2. Use no or as little background-images
    3. Use no or as little row- and collspans!
    4. Always use absolute url's! NOT relative url's!
    5. Use no copy content from "word"...
    6. Use no "javascript"..
    7. Use no "flash"...
    8. Use no "<div>...</div>,<span>...</span>"...
    9. Never use "<map>…</map>" make the links.
    10. Always use the UTF-8 as the default charset if there is Chinese text in the newsletter.

  • Q:The text becomes a messy code when you try to preview.

    A: –
    1. Make sure " charset=utf-8" is in the source of newsletter.
    2. Save the file into utf-8 type with the text editor (use Notepad/ Ultra Edit).

  • Q: – How to avoid that the newsletter goes to spam box or get bounced?

A: – Yourzine has written a guideline to improve deliverability. Please find it here.

  • Q: – How to use the personalization function?

    A:
    1. Add the symbols {{ }} in the HTML text. {{the field you want to personalize will be here }}. This can in example be the name of the receiver: Dear {{first name}}.
    2. Make sure the field and data exist in the database. If there is no 'first name' field in your database, or not all data of this field is filled in in the database, the personalization area will stay empty.

  • Q: – How to prepare the database before import?

A: – Sort out the database carefully to improve the import successful rate:
    Database Arrangement Rules:
    1. The data is suppoed to be a CSV format ("Save as…. " in Excel).
    2. Delete wrong symbols from the data, such as " / \ | ' ; : ?.
    3. When the data includes Chinese characters, the database file should be converted to UTF-8 format ("Save as…").

  • Q: – Not all the addresses in CSV can be imported into the application successful.

    A: – Possible reasons:
    The address is repeated
    The address is wrong (te/st@163.com)
    The person has been unsubscribed
It failed to send an email to this person earlier

  • Q: – When can you get the final report of the results?

A: – Normally, we suggest the customer to check the final report 3 to 5 days after sending.
There are several reasons why we suggest this. It can happen that not all of your emails are send exactly at the moment you want (due to sending jams it can take some time before all your emails are send. Also, not all ESP's deliver your email exactly at the time they receive it; sometimes they hold your email for some hours Not everyone checks his or her email every day. Spam boxes are most of the times checked once or twice a week, so if you email ends up there (which we don't hope but it can happen) it takes some days before people read your email.
After 3 to 4 days, your newsletter is send and delivered, and you can expect that most people you send you email to have seen your email (and hopefully read it). After 3 to 4 days, the sening results don't change a lot anymore.

  • Q: – How to get the sending successful database?

    A: –
    - "Manage database"->"export"->"Bouncers export"
    - "Manage database"->"import"
    - Filter the database from the original database to get a new target group which is the successful database.
